Job: Solar Analyst

Location: Hybrid with a London focus
Reporting to: COO
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience)

Overview

We are seeking a commercially minded and technically capable Solar Analyst to join our growing team. You will support both the development of new commercial rooftop solar projects and the ongoing management of existing solar arrays. This dual-aspect role is vital to ensuring client satisfaction and project success across the solar lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solar Project Design & Pre-Sales

  • Assist in the design and modelling of commercial rooftop solar PV systems using tools such as PVsyst, SolarEdge Designer, and similar.
  • Produce system layouts, energy yield reports, and performance projections to support business cases and investment models.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop compelling client proposals and feasibility reports.
  • Support the preparation of financial models, ROI analysis, and project economics to inform client decision-making.
  • Participate in site assessments and contribute to technical feasibility studies.
  • Update sales opportunities in our CRM and assist with parts of the sales process 

2. Solar Operations & Asset Management

  • Monitor the performance of operational solar systems using digital platforms, tracking KPIs such as generation, availability, and degradation.
  • Generate regular client reports on system performance, highlighting issues, insights, and recommendations.
  • Liaise with O&M providers and coordinate site visits, routine maintenance, and reactive fault resolution.
  • Support billing, client queries, supplier coordination, and service-level tracking.
  • Help maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and performance transparency.

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or Business).
  • 1–2 years of professional experience, ideally within sustainability, infrastructure, or commercial project environments.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (modelling, charts, financial analysis) and Google Slides or PowerPoint (client-facing presentations).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in a client-facing setting.
  • A demonstrable passion for sustainability and the energy transition.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with solar PV design and simulation software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or SolarEdge Designer.
  • Passion for making a direct commercial impact while contributing to the broader decarbonisation of the UK economy through clean energy.
