The Challenge
Midlands Retail Co. operates a large warehousing and distribution facility in the East Midlands. Like many industrial businesses, they have invested in a significant roof-mounted solar system but wanted the visibility and performance data needed to truly understand its value or spot issues before they became costly problems.

Footprint Zero stepped in to handle the solar management for the 1,450 kWp system and provide full performance monitoring through through their Dashboard. From day one, the Midlands Retail Co. team had clear, real-time visibility of energy generation, onsite consumption, and efficiency of their solar installation all in one place.
Our dedicated solar helpdesk became their single point of contact for any queries, taking the hassle away from their internal facilities team. When a string of inverters showed a drop in output, we identified the issue remotely within 48 hours and coordinated with the O&M supplier to resolve it quickly, minimising lost generation.
We also took over export metering management and liaison with their Meter Operator, ensuring Midlands Retail Co’s data was accurate and their invoicing was clean and timely.
